DTG GLOBAL
Security Engineer
Job Description
A highly regarded professional services firm based in London is looking for a Security Engineer to join its information security team, playing a hands-on role in protecting the firm’s infrastructure, systems and data.
The opportunity
This is a technical, delivery-focused role sitting within a well-established security function. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Technology and the wider business, taking ownership of security tooling, monitoring and incident response activity day-to-day. There’s real scope to develop here, with exposure to a broad range of technologies and a firm that takes its security posture seriously.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be involved in the full range of security engineering activity – monitoring and responding to threats, managing SIEM and endpoint protection platforms, supporting vulnerability management, and contributing to security architecture decisions. You’ll assist with penetration testing oversight, patch management, and the ongoing hardening of the firm’s environment. You’ll also play a part in security incident investigations and help maintain and improve technical controls across the estate.
What we’re looking for
You’ll need solid hands-on experience in a security engineering or security operations role, ideally gained within a legal or professional services environment. Strong working knowledge of SIEM platforms, endpoint detection and response tools, and network security fundamentals is essential. Familiarity with cloud security – particularly Microsoft Azure or M365 – would be a strong advantage, as would experience with scripting or automation to improve security processes.
A relevant professional certification (such as CompTIA Security+, SC-200, CEH or equivalent) is desirable. Above all, you’ll be methodical, collaborative and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
