Data & Analytics Engineer 

Job Description

A leading professional services firm is looking for a Data & Analytics Engineer with strong Alteryx expertise to join a growing analytics function at an exciting point in its development.

The opportunity

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building robust, repeatable analytical workflows and making data accessible to decision-makers across a business. You’ll work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, automating data preparation processes and delivering clean, reliable outputs that support commercial and operational decisions.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll design and build automated data workflows in Alteryx, handling ingestion, transformation and blending of data from multiple sources. You’ll work alongside BI and analytics colleagues to ensure clean, well-structured data underpins reporting and insight activity, and contribute to the development of scalable, maintainable processes that reduce manual effort across the function. You’ll also support data quality and governance initiatives and help upskill colleagues in best practice use of the platform.

What we’re looking for

You’ll need proven hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer, ideally including experience with Alteryx Server or Connect. Strong SQL skills are essential, and experience with Power BI or Tableau would be a solid advantage. A background in financial services, insurance or professional services is preferred. You’ll be collaborative, detail-oriented and comfortable working across both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Alteryx certification is desirable but not essential – what matters most is demonstrable practical experience building and maintaining complex workflows in a commercial environment.

Locations

This role can be based in their London, Birmingham or Leeds office on a Hybrid basis.
