Job Description

A large national professional services firm is building a specialist AI engineering capability inside its technology function, and is looking for an engineer to join the team.

This is a hands-on build role. The team designs and ships AI agents and automated workflows that go into live use across the business, so you would see your work in real operations quickly rather than sitting at proof of concept stage. The technical direction and standards are set by the senior engineers, so you would be building against defined patterns, contributing to design and code reviews, and growing into more of the architecture over time.

The stack is Microsoft. Python for services and pipelines, Azure AI and Copilot Studio for the agent and workflow layer, REST and GraphQL for integration, and the usual CI/CD, containerisation and monitoring around it.

What they are looking for:

  • Solid Python engineering, including API work, testing and modular code
  • Some experience building AI or LLM-backed applications, agents or workflows
  • An understanding of how agents, orchestration and tool use fit together
  • Azure exposure across AI services, Functions or containers
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Git and automated testing
  • Someone who enjoys a fast-moving area and is happy to learn as they go

Experience in automation or integration-heavy environments is useful, as is anything in a regulated or financial setting, but neither is essential.

This is a good role for someone a few years into their engineering career who wants to move properly into AI work with senior people around them to learn from.
