Product Owner – Legal Technology
Job Description
A large international law firm is hiring a Product Owner to take charge of the technology platforms its lawyers rely on day to day, and to make sure they are properly used across the business.
The portfolio runs from the portals clients log into, through the tools that handle instructions and matters, out to extranets and automated drafting. Much of it is already in place, so the job is less about launching something new and more about understanding where take-up is strong, where it has stalled, and what needs to change. You would sit alongside the technology leads embedded in each practice group, senior fee earners and the vendors themselves.
The role reports into the Solutions Manager.
What you’ll be doing
- Building a clear picture of how each platform is being used and where the sticking points are
- Working with practice groups to understand what they need next and feeding it into the roadmap
- Running the training, campaigns and internal push that turn a rollout into a habit
- Holding vendors to account on delivery, cost and fit
- Being the last stop for problems that have already been round the houses
- Supporting pitches where technology strengthens the firm’s case
- Keeping across what is coming to market and flagging what is worth a look
What we’re looking for
- Experience owning a technology product inside a law firm or comparable professional services business
- Someone who can hold a room with partners and explain a system without losing them
- Confident with data, and able to write it up so it is short and worth reading
- Familiar with agile delivery
- Commercially aware, with a sense of why the investment needs to pay back
- The firm would like HighQ or Contract Express on the CV. They have not made it a condition.
