Tax Technology – Assistant Manager – AI & Automation
Job Description
A national professional services firm is looking for a Tax Technology Assistant Manager to help drive AI and automation across its tax business.
This is the bridge role between the tax teams and the people building the technology. You would work with tax colleagues to find where the real inefficiencies sit, shape those into clear requirements, and then see the solutions through with the internal and external developers who build them. Once something is live, you would be the one running the training, handling the testing and making sure people actually use it.
The team is small and the work is national, so there is genuine visibility here. The firm is early enough in its AI adoption that the person in this role will have a real say in what gets built and in what order.
What they are looking for:
- A background in tax technology, either inside a firm or on the vendor side
- A working knowledge of tax compliance and advisory processes
- The ability to turn what a tax team asks for into user stories, workflows or wireframes a developer can build from
- Comfortable using data to spot opportunities and to show whether something has worked
- Confident running training sessions and taking colleagues through new tools
- Someone who takes ownership and pushes projects to a finish rather than waiting to be chased
You do not need to be a developer. This is about understanding tax well enough to know what is worth automating, and understanding technology well enough to get it delivered.
