Legal Engineer
Job Description
We’re working with a law firm that’s investing seriously in how legal work is designed, delivered and scaled.
They’re looking for a Legal Engineer to help turn legal processes into repeatable, technology-enabled solutions. Someone who understands how lawyers actually work, but can also design, automate and improve what sits underneath.
What you’ll be doing
- Breaking down legal processes and redesigning them for scale and efficiency
- Building and maintaining automated workflows using document automation, low-code tools and legal tech platforms
- Working closely with lawyers to translate legal requirements into practical solutions
- Supporting AI, data and automation initiatives across the firm
- Improving how legal services are delivered, not just how tools are configured
What they’re looking for
- Experience as a Legal Engineer, Legal Technologist, Automation Specialist or similar
- Strong understanding of legal workflows within a law firm or professional services environment
- Hands-on experience with document automation and workflow tools (specific platforms are less important than how you use them)
- Comfortable working with lawyers, questioning assumptions and proposing better ways of doing things
- Technically curious, commercially aware, and pragmatic
You don’t need to be a qualified lawyer. You do need to understand how legal work actually happens and how technology can genuinely improve it.
Why this role
- Clear mandate to modernise, not just maintain
- Senior buy-in and visible impact
- Growing area with long-term career progression
- A chance to shape how legal services are delivered, not just support them
If you’re working in legal tech, automation or process design and want a role with real influence, this is worth a conversation.
