Information Technology Security Manager

Job Description

IT Security Manager needed for this professional organisation to take ownership of IT security alongside oversight of IT service delivery.

This is a senior role within the technology function, working closely with the IT Director and other senior stakeholders to ensure systems, services, and data are secure, resilient, and well managed.

The role

You will act as the organisation’s point of accountability for information security, shaping policies, managing risk, and ensuring regulatory and client expectations are met.

Alongside this, you will retain oversight of IT operations delivered by third-party providers, ensuring service quality, standards, and continuous improvement. You will also work with internal software teams to ensure security considerations are addressed across internally developed platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Ownership of the organisation’s security posture and assurance activities
• Oversight of IT service delivery and external suppliers
• Management of security policies, controls, and compliance activity
• Coordination of audits, assessments, and risk reviews
• Incident response and recovery planning
• Security awareness and guidance across the business
• Responding to client security questionnaires and supporting bids
• Advising senior stakeholders on technology and security risk

Background & experience

• Strong background in IT with significant responsibility for security
• Experience in professional services or regulated environments
• Comfortable working with third-party providers
• Confident engaging with auditors, clients, and senior stakeholders
• Pragmatic, business-aware approach to security

Certifications are advantageous but not essential.
